Native Expansion / Introduction and Information
« on: September 24, 2014, 01:36:21 PM »
What is Native Expansion?

Native Expansion was built by people who love the original game and it's sandbox style. We do not try to make it into something it is not, to radically change the game mechanics or gameplay experience. But everything we had in the original game, we're improving upon, extending gameplay and expanding player's capabilities in the world of Calradia of 1257. We fully intend to squeeze every potential ounce of fun from Native Warband and deliver it to our players.

It's as simple as that. We're Native, but better. We're Warband, but better. We stand on the shoulders of giants and reach just a little bit higher.

Native Expansion: More better stuff.

Native Expansion / Download and Install

Downloading and Installing Native Expansion.

You can find all currently active links to download Native Expansion mod and it's major add-ons and patches in the first post of this thread. Each post after the first one contains the release notes for a new version of Native Expansion or a critical patch. Players are recommended to subscribe to this thread to automatically receive new release notifications.

Native Expansion 0.610b2.

This is the latest official release of Native Expansion. Requires Warband engine version 1.153 or later.
Instructions.

Download both the Native Expansion v0.610b and the latest patch. Install them to your Warband's Modules folder. The resulting path should look like:
  • C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\Native Expansion [BETA] for Warband installation on 32bit Windows.
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\Native Expansion [BETA] for Warband installation on 64bit Windows.
  • C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\Native Expansion [BETA] for Steam Warband installation on 32bit Windows.
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\Native Expansion [BETA] for Steam Warband installation on 64bit Windows.
Note that you may need administrative permissions to install any mods to Program Files or Program Files (x86) folders. Protection provided by Windows to installed applications may be quite paranoid, but turning it off may open your computer to infections. Because of this it is recommended to install Warband to a different folder entirely, for example C:\Games.

Development team recommendations.
  • Native Expansion Siege Scenes Pack improves all battle scenes, adding a second ladder to many of them, making sieges more tactical and detailed. It is a recommended add-on to Native Expansion mod. The pack is available from a 3rd party site as zip archive (7.4Mb file size). You can visit the Siege Scenes Pack forum thread for more information about the pack.

  • soulmata's personal recommendation is the Battle Size Changer tool, allowing you to modify your singleplayer battle size in a far wider range than the standard slider in the game settings. With this tool, you can get battles with up to 1000 participants - assuming your computer can handle this, of course.
Other Downloads.

Download links to previous versions of Native Expansion, both for Warband and Mount&Blade, can be found under the spoiler tag.
